Nautical Supplies offers newest brands, old style service
NT News, July 30th, 2016.
Darwin boaters are spoilt for choice when it comes to year round fishing, sailing and enjoying the outdoors, and Nautical Supplies has been a part of that local marine landscape since 1978. Though a lot has changed since the 70’s for the Top End’s maritime industry; facilities and infrastructure, developments in oil and gas and new opportunities to reach an even broader market, the ethos of Nautical Supplies remains the same – an offering of quality products and service to match.
The Darwin to Ambon Yacht Race starts August 13th, local, domestic and international Yachts have been busy preparing their boats for the race. The Nautical Sails loft has been busy with a number of rigging jobs, including splicing of new halyards and the manufacturing and tuning of standing rigging. The team has also been busy manufacturing new sails.
Nautical Supplies has recently taken on a number of new marine products, including the range from the well known ACR Electronics, who specialise in the design and manufacture of marine survival technologies, including EPIRBS, SART, VHF handheld radios and more. Nautical Supplies is also an authorised battery repair centre for the region.
Amongst the range of products on offer to protect and beautify vessels, Nautical has also recently become the Northern Territory Distributor for Altex Yacht and Boat Paint. Altex is especially engineered to offer hull protection, reduced fuel consumption and minimal colour washout. Available in a selection of sizes, and including thinners, primers and all coating products required for a superior smooth finish.
During 2015, Nautical Supplies partnered with the AMI Group, another long established Australian owned and operated business, whose list of companies range from Satellite Communications to Marine Electronics and Ship service, offering a unique advantage to both boaters and commercial operators in the region. With both Nautical and AMI having extensive experience in marine safety, including rafts, vests, EPIRBS and other emergency equipment, customers can ensure they get the right advice when it comes to staying safe in the water.
